About the event
McWhirter, a Wall Street Journal reporter based in Atlanta, will talk about his new book, American Gun: The True Story of the AR-15, co-authored with Zusha Elinson, a WSJ reporter based in San Francisco. The book is the first complete narrative history -- involving spies, generals, John Wayne, political battles, bureaucratic intrigue and culture wars -- of how the AR-15 rifle became the most popular, and most despised, rifle in the U.S.
