Seven years after the horrendous mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School left 17 people dead, crews began to demolish the building where the shooting occurred. As described in American Gun: The True Story of the AR-15, the shooter used an AR-15 to commit the atrocity and fled the scene. He was later captured. The shooting sparked nationwide protests and walkouts by students demanding more safety measures and stricter gun laws, especially regarding rapid-fire guns like the AR-15.
