St. Louis lawyers Mark and Patricia McCloskey recently regained possession of their AR-15 rifle. Five years ago, the firearm was seized after Mark McCloskey brandished at Black Lives Matter protesters as they marched by McCloskey's home. The episode, in which no one was hurt, is recounted in American Gun: The True Story of the AR-15. Mark McCloskey announced the return of the rifle on X, stating that it took "3 lawsuits, 2 trips to the Court of Appeals and 1,847 days" to get it back. The couple's convictions for misdemeanor assault and harassment were expunged last month by a Missouri appeals court after they were pardoned by Republican Governor Mike Parson in 2021. McCloskey made his own bid to enter politics in 2022 in the Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in Missouri. He lost.
